ŽIGA BRANK violin
Programme: Eugène Ysaÿe, Fritz Kreisler, George Enescu, Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolò Paganini
For half a century, Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe (1858–1931) was regarded as one of the most important musicians worldwide. He conceived the set of six sonatas for unaccompanied violin as a musical testament, dedicating each piece to a different virtuoso of the younger generation. Žiga Brank links selected sonatas to works by Ysaÿe's dedicatees Kreisler and Enescu as well as to music by his predecessors Bach and Paganini.
