CHARLES DANIELS tenor
ELIZABETH KENNY theorbo
Programme: Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger, Giulio Caccini, Sigismondo d'India, Claudio Monteverdi, John Blow, Henry Purcell, Samuel Akeroyde
Charles Daniels is one of the most experienced early music performers today. His repertoire extends from the 9th century to the present day. He takes special interest in challenges such as demanding ornamentation, unusual temperaments and period pronunciation. With lutenist Elizabeth Kenny he performs Italian and English music, from virtuoso songs by Kapsberger to Akeroyde's miniatures, an image of the rougher London youth of 1690.
Vocal workshop with Charles Daniels on Friday, 22 August from 9.30 am to 6 pm.
