The 36th Radovljica Festival 2018 will take place between 4 and 21 August, and will be hosting almost fifty performers from ten countries presenting a variety of programmes from modern reconstructions of viking songs to Max Reger and Richard Strauss. Three concerts feature Slovenian musical heritage from the renaissance, baroque and classical periods. The festival also includes a workshop for singers and courses for recorder, organ and harpsichord.

A free festival bus from Ljubljana and Kranj is available to all concerts.

SONGS FROM THE OLD ICELANDIC EDDA

MOIRAI
Hanna Marti voice, harp, direction
Mara Winter wooden flutes, bone flute, overtone flute

With Slovenian titles

Moirai presents new musical reconstructions of Old Norse songs from the poetic Edda. The stories of dragon slayers, cursed gold, courtly intrigues, vengeful valkyries, brave heroines, prophets and seeresses were probably transmitted orally for several centuries, before they were written down in the 13th century.
