The 38th Radovljica Festival 2020 will take place between 7 and 23 August. The festival programme has remained unchanged despite all uncertainties. The repertoire ranges from the earliest notated polyphony to the music of Chopin and Liszt. Six programmes will be world premieres, five are associated with Slovenia in various ways, four have been devised especially for the festival and three feature Slovenian musical heritage from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Several concerts will take place in the church, the opening concert will in the open, one of the concets will be repeated.

Free festival bus from Ljubljana and Kranj is available to all concerts.

Choirbooks formerly owned by the prince-bishop of Ljubljana Tomaž Hren contain liturgical music by Italian and Franco-Flemish composers. The collection includes a Mass for nine singers and five sackbuts by Lambert de Sayve, here in its first modern performance, and a Magnificat by Lasso preserved only in Ljubljana.
