Thursday, 20 August 2020 at 20.00
St Peter’s Church, Radovljica
The myth of Orpheus is of great importance in medieval music theory. This programme features polyphonic liturgical chants according to the rules of the 9th-century treatise Musica enchiriadis, organa from the Winchester Troper, written around 1050, medieval settings of odes of Horace, as well as the David's Lament over Saul and Jonathan by Peter Abelard. The voices are accompanied by instruments of the Carolingian period, as depicted in the Utrecht Psalter.
